1981A $1 Federal Reserve Note Autographs by Katherine Davalos Ortega and Donald T. Regan PMG 66 EPQ Gem Unc. "Mule"
Autographed notes or Courtesy Autographs are tremendously valuable, rare, highly sought after, and extremely collectable. Autographed notes represent not only the note and the financial, political and social history surrounding that specific Autographed note, but also the famous person who has chosen to hand sign the note. Famous persons autographing these notes have chosen to capture that moment, as well as themselves, for history.
Courtesy Autograph Signature combinations are extremely rare and in some cases, one-of-a-kind. Thus, the assignment of a replacement value on some of these notes is nearly impossible.

The Conti One Dollar Error Note is a Series 1963. This specific series was printed from 1963 to 1965. Notice that the seal is located high on the ONE and that the number is shifted up. This shift demonstrates a misaligned printing plate via BEP’s offset intaglio printing process. The unusual message “REPAIR PARTS” was on the currency paper prior to the over printing of the Federal Reserve seal.
One of the most important aspects of this note (as shown in this second picture) is that the “G” Federal Reserve Seal is clearly printed OVER the REPAIR PARTS text. The “G” denotes the Chicago Federal Reserve.
President George Washington’s face includes a green highlighted over-printed circle (used when centering plates with the press); UP is encircled in green. The 1965 is also printed onto the bill.
